Glyphosate History and Use
Glyphosate is a non-selective herbicide first developed in the 1970s by Monsanto and given the trade name Roundup. It kills any plant it is sprayed on. Over the years certain weeds have become resistant to glyphosate. This resistance has also been added to several crops allowing them to withstand glyphosate application while the weeds around them die. The patent for glyphosate has expired so there are many companies selling the product. Like all herbicides there are certain precautions you need to take when using, read the label.
