Q&A - Can I make my tomatoes ripen faster?

Question:
I have lots of small green tomatoes on my plants. I don’t think they will ripen before frost. Is there a way to speed up ripening?

Answer:
There is no guaranteed way to ripen green tomatoes. You can just use them for fried green tomatoes. If the tomatoes are starting to turn leave them on the vine and watch the weather. The day before it is supposed to freeze go out and pick them and let them ripen in the window sill. If they have started to turn, even if they are still almost all green they will ripen.
