How do I control gooseberry suckers?
There are two ways to control gooseberry suckers. You can grow a lawn around the plants and then mow. Or you can manually cultivate around the plant removing the suckers. Retired UT Extension Agent Mike Dennison explains the pros and cons of each method. He also talks about whether you can dig up and move the suckers.
