How do I stop locust sprouts coming up from the roots of a cut down tree?

How you deal with problem depends on where the sprouts are popping up. Retired Horticulture Specialist Lelia Kelly says if they are in the lawn just mow them with the grass. They will eventually stop. If they are popping up in the flower bed, she tells how she has personally taken care of this problem.
