Is there a secret to getting watermelons to grow large?

There is no “secret,” but there are some things you can do to help them grow large. Make sure you choose a variety that grows large. Many popular varieties intentionally grow small. Also, only allow one or two fruit to grow on each plant. Make sure the plants have even soil moisture.
