What are your suggestions to attract monarch butterflies?

Monarch butterflies may briefly stoop in your garden, but to really attract them you need to provide the host plant for monarch caterpillars. That is milkweed (anything in the Asclepias genus of plants). Also, UT Extension Horticulture Specialist Celeste Scott talks about timing. Monarchs often do not arrive in the southern US until late summer as they travel back south.
