What caused the split in my Pawpaw tree? What can I do about it?
There are a number of things that might have caused this problem. Tennessee Plant Inspector Lisa Lawhead thinks it is most likely caused by sunscald in the winter. She suggests letting some suckers come up from the roots and then choosing one to replace the existing tree.
