What causes this on my leaf?
A: Leaf Gall
This is a gall. Galls can be caused by many different things including insects, fungus or a virus. The organism that causes it releases a chemical into the leaf that causes the plant to grow strangely. The organism then lives inside the gall. Galls are generally not harmful long term to the plant.
