Q&A - What is causing bumps on my grape leaves?
Question:
What is causing small bumps on the leaves of my grapes?
Answer:
This is the result of the insect grape phylloxera. When the insect feeds on the leaves it causes the leaf to create a bump. Often the plant may drop affected leaves which of course cause the plant to have less photosynthesis. Late in the year there is nothing you can do about it because the plant will not have a chance to grow new leaves. If you want to control it you can apply fruit tree sprays with Malathion in the spring.
