Why has my lilac bush dropped all its leaves? Is it dying?

This is likely due to environmental conditions. Horticulturist Joellen Dimond explains how the plant could have been overwatered in the hot summer which caused the leaves to fall off. She is not worried about it because by the fall, the leaves have provided the required nutrients for the plant to survive the winter and come back next spring.
