Q&A – How do I get flocks of robins to leave my trees?

Question:
How do I get flocks of robins to leave my trees?

Answer:

It can be difficult to get birds to leave. UT Extension Agent Lee Sammons III suggests hanging strips of aluminum foil or even CDs in the trees. The robins don’t like the flashing of the reflections. Kim Rucker, Greenhouse Manager at Dixon Gallery and Gardens suggests using a plastic owl with a moving head, but you will have to move it often or the birds will get used to it.
