How often should I water my small Myer lemon that is growing in a container?

The plant should be watered when the soil has dried out. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says you need to wait until the soil is dry an inch or so under the surface. You can check with a moisture meter or even your finger. She also talks about how the pot the plant is growing in is much larger than is needed. She recommends a smaller pot that will allow the soil to dry out faster as the plant takes up water.
