Q&A – What are these spots on my hydrangea?
Question:
What are these spots on my hydrangea?
Answer:
This is Cercospora leaf spot. It is common on large leaf hydrangeas. It is a fungal disease. Because it is late in the season, it is not really worth treating because the leaves will fall off soon. Make sure you collect the diseased leaves when they do fall and dispose of them in the trash, not the compost pile. If you see it in the spring you can pinch off the diseased leaves and dispose of them.
