• Start seeds for fall cabbages, parsley and collards
  
• Replant summer color if needed
  

Lawn Care

• For zoysia and bermuda lawns: fertilize and raise mower blades to 2 1/2 to 3 inches in hot dry weather
  

Fertilize

• Perennial flowers and re-blooming hydrangeas
  

Prune

• Remove blooms from re-blooming hydrangeas
• Pinch back mums, chrysanthemums and other fall blooming flowers
• Continue to deadhead annuals and perennials
• Remove unsightly fern fronds
  

Other

• Water on weeks with less than one inch of rain
  
• Continue to monitor for insect and fungal diseases and treat as needed
  
• Keep birdbaths clean and filled with water
