Tools can spread disease from one plant to another in the garden. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond shows how to disinfect tools to keep from spreading diseases. She uses a 10% bleach solution. She also shows how to lubricate pruners. Then she shows how she sharpens her tools using a file. Sharp, clean tools make cleaner cuts and are easier to use.
