Pesticide Modes of Action
Retired UT extension agent, Mike Dennision. explains the "modes of action" for our most popular consumer pesticides. The biggest issue with any insecticide is resistance, which develops quickly in pests due to the speed at which insects breed. The way to prevent this resistance build-up is to rotate between insecticides with different modes of action. Each mode of action kills in a different way.
