Preparing lawns for Summer
Getting your lawn ready for summer in the spring will keep it happy and healthy for the whole growing season. UT Extension Agent Booker T. Leigh explains what to do. His first recommendation is to get a soil test so you know what to add to your soil. Do you need to change the pH and how much fertilizer do you need? Booker also recommends sharpening your mower blade to get a nice clean cut. He recommends cutting your lawn in different directions each time and at the right height. Booker also talks about common lawn diseases and insect pests. He also talks about aeration, dethatching, watering, and fertilization.
