Preparing Southern Lawns for Winter
Winter can be a stressful time for lawns. UT Extension Agent Booker T. Leigh talks about some of the things you can do to get your lawn ready for winter and the next spring. While the above ground part of the lawn may be dead, the roots are still alive and actively growing. Booker recommends cutting your grass at the same height going into fall and winter, getting a soil test to determine what amendments you need - like lime - and then adding those so they will have done their job by spring.
