Protecting Landscape Plants in Winter

Winter can be hard on plants. Retired MSU Extension Horticulture Specialist Lelia Kelly talks about things you can to do protect your plants. She encourages people to pay attention to the weather forecast to see when they need to take action. Lelia talks about various coverings you can put on plants to insulate them from the cold weather. She does not recommend plastic, she likes blankets, which she gets for cheap from the thrift store. She talks about how to use them to take advantage of the heat radiating from the ground. She also talks about how to protect young trees from sunscald.
