Q&A - How do you get rid of moles without using traps?

Question:
I have moles!! I saw where you could set traps but I would have to empty the traps and dispose of them!!! YUCK!!!!! How do you rid your yard of moles without traps?  My yard looks horrible!

Answer:
Unfortunately, the only way to rid your yard of moles is to use traps. UT/TSU Extension agent Joellen Dimond does mention a product she tried once that discouraged moles because it stunk. It also stunk for humans and only worked for a short time. You could also try a cat or dog that would kill the moles but the animal will dig up the yard to find the moles.  If you don’t want to deal with the dead moles you may need to get someone else to empty the traps.
