Q&A - My photinia has red spots on the leaves

Question:
My red tip photinia has reddish spots all over the leaves. Is it sick?

Answer:
Red spots on photinia leaves is very common. It is entomosporium leaf spot. To prevent entomosporium leaf spot you can spray a fungicide containing daconyl 2787. You would need to start before the growing season and spray every 7 to 10 days throughout the season. If the spots start to kill the plant pull it up and replace it with something else. To reduce infection, remove fallen leaves under the plant and dispose of them. Also, try to keep the plant foliage from getting wet.
