Q&A - What Is This Plant? - Dogfennel

Question:
I have a plant growing in my back yard. It grows in stalks or shoots and it's very beautiful in the wind. It is dark green and  almost looks like dill with its feathery branches. I did not plant it, it just grew one spring. Do you have any idea what it is?

Answer:
Chris and Horticulturist Jason Reeves talk about  "dogfennel" that occasionally sneaks into our gardens from the wild. As a native perennial plant with pleasant yellow flowers it's harmless, pleasant to look at and can grow to a considerable 6-8 feet in height.
