Q&A - What should you consider before
starting a vegetable garden?
Question:
What should you consider before starting a vegetable garden?
Answer:
Master Gardener Tom Mashour gives some basic pointers on where to locate a vegetable garden. You need to locate your garden in a place that gets a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight a day. For your convenience, it should be close to a water source. The soil should be good but if it’s not that can be corrected over time. Shelby County Extension Director Jim Todd says he would like to see soil that has organic matter in it too.
