Can you help me? My husband's aunt gave me this plant 15 years ago. I put it in the closet each fall and water it from time to time. Then about March it puts up little white shoots, puts on leaves and starts to bloom. I have had this in the same pot all along. What is it and what is the correct way to take care of it?

Achimenes ia a plant that loves shade, and to be planted in well-drained soil. It can be taken care of quite similarly to the African Violet.
