Q&A - How do I get rid of nutsedge?

Question:
The last few years I have had a problem with nutsedge grass in an area of my garden. Do you have any recommendations to put an end to this curse on humanity?

Answer:
Nutsedge or nut grass is considered to be the world’s worst weed. There are several ways to remove it. The first option is to dig it out but you have to get it all out or it will come back. Joellen Dimond talks about how she did it. It takes a lot of work. It is possible to cover the area where the nutsedge is with black plastic in the summer time and bake it in the heat.  There are chemical options too like glyphosate, Image (imazaquin), and Sedgehammer. As always read and follow label directions.
