Q&A – Can I recycle expired milk or juice into my garden?

Question:
Can I recycle expired milk or juice into my garden?
Answer:
Milk is a good source of calcium. You can use it, just dilute it with water first. UT Extension Agents Chris Cooper and Walter Battle say juice is another matter. It is very acidic which may change soil pH. The sugar in juice will also attract insects and rodents. It is also not recommended to put juice in your compost pile for the same reasons.
