Q&A – Why did none of my new lavender plants bloom last year?

Question:
Can I run my air conditioner to harden off my plants?

Answer:
Unfortunately, this does not work. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says that the changing air temperature of day and night is what hardens off the plants. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper says you also need to slowly introduce them to sunlight.
