Q&A – How do I control wild violets in my asparagus plot?

Question:
How do I control wild violets in my asparagus plot?

Answer:

Wild violets are difficult to control in any circumstance. UT Assistant Professor of Residential and Consumer Horticulture Natalie Bumgarner says there are very few chemical options in a food crop. The best option is probably hand weeding. UT Extension Agent Celeste Scott says once you have removed the violets by hand mulch would reduce the number that come back.
