Q&A – How do you get rid of
monkey grass?

Question:
How do you get rid of monkey grass?

Answer:
Monkey grass is hard to get rid of. It has rhyzomes that if left in the soil will grow another plant. UT Extension Agents Walter Battle and Chris Cooper give a few options for getting rid of it. Both options include digging it out and treating any new growth with glyphosate. It will be a several-years-long battle, but it can be done.
