Q&A – How do I save my peach trees from rot and fungus?

Question:
How do I save my peach trees from rot and fungus?

Answer:
Keeping peaches disease free in humid climates requires frequent spraying. Retired UT Extension Agent Mike Dennison talks about what these problems are and how to go about trying to correct them. The rot is brown rot. It is a fungal disease that affects the leaves, fruit, and branches. It can be controlled by the regular application of a fungicide. The moss is white peach scale. It grows on the branches and will kill the branches it is on. Mike gives a basic spray schedule that will help control these problems. The spray guide he references can be found here.
