Q&A – I added fertilizer, Preen and too much peat moss to my garden.
Have I ruined it?

Question:
I added fertilizer, Preen and too much peat moss to my garden. Have I ruined it?

Answer:

There are a few potential problems here. Preen is a pre-emergent and will keep any seeds from sprouting, including seeds you plant. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper and University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond discuss the effect of peat moss on the soil. They both give advice on what to do in this situation.
