Q&A – I have a huge aphid infestation. What can I do so I can enjoy my flowers again?

Question:
I have a huge aphid infestation. What can I do so I can enjoy my flowers again?

Answer:

Aphids are easy to control. UT Extension Agent Celeste Scott says the first thing to do is keep an eye on your plants to see when the aphids arrive. When you see them treat, but also come back 7-10 days later to treat again. The first treatment will kill the adults, the second treatment will kill the aphids that were in a stage of life that was unaffected by the first application. UT Assistant Professor of Residential and Consumer Horticulture Natalie Bumgarner talks about some other things that could be allowing the aphids to thrive.
