I have insects on my Ficus, but can’t move it, it is too big. How do I get rid of the insects?
Answer:
This looks like it may be a mealybug which sucks sap. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper says mealybugs can usually be easily controlled by an insecticidal soap or neem oil, but in this case you can’t spray. Memphis Botanic Garden Horticulturalist Jill Maybry says you can use a systemic insecticide which is applied to the plant roots. This allows control of the insects without spraying which could damage the floor.
