Q&A – Is it to late too prune my pear once it is blooming?
Question:
Is it too late to prune my pear tree since it has blooms on it? When should I have pruned them?
Answer:
It is not to late to prune your pear when it is blooming. Retired UT Extension Agent Mike Dennison says ideally you would have pruned just before they started blooming, but during bloom is fine too. You should not prune within 48 hours of a predicted hard freeze.
