Q&A – My BloomStruck hydrangea are drooping from weight. What should I do?

Question:
My BloomStruck hydrangea are drooping from weight. What should I do?

Answer:
UT/TSU Extension Agent Celeste Scott recommends pruning the plant and bringing the blooms inside to enjoy. She says if you prune them at the right place, next year the plant will bush out from those pruning points and will have more blooms on shorter stalks. These stalks will be better able to support the weight of the flowers.
