Q&A – My walnut trees are dropping their walnuts. What could

Question:
My walnut trees are dropping their walnuts. What could be the problem?
​
Answer:

Walnut trees tend to drop immature walnuts through the growing season. Retired UT Extension Agent Mike Dennison says walnuts self-thin and will start dropping walnuts in July. He has several walnut trees and all of them have exhibited this.
