Q&A – Should you prune knockout roses? Why aren’t mine doing so well?

Question:
Should you prune knockout roses? Why aren’t mine doing so well?

Answer:
You can prune knockout roses, but you don’t have to. Rose expert Bill Dickerson says you don’t even have to deadhead knockout roses. If you want to prune heavily, do it in early spring or late fall when they are dormant. Bill gives some reasons why the bushes might not be doing so well and gives some recommendations on how to make them better.
