Q&A – The leaves on my holly are orange. Do I need to be concerned?

Question:
The leaves of my holly shrubs are orange in color. Do I need to be concerned?

Answer:
Former Memphis Horticultural Society President Suzy Askew says the plant was overexposed over the cold winter and the leaves got sunburned. It is nothing to worry about. The plant will put out new growth and leaves in the spring. Suzy says her holly plants do this every year and they come back just fine. Hollys and boxwoods can look similar and Suzy shows how to spot the difference between them.
