Q&A – This strawberry-like plant is invading my yard. How do I get rid of it?

Question:
This strawberry-like plant is invading my yard. How do I get rid of it?

Answer:
This is mock strawberry or Indian mock strawberry. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says pulling is the best way to get rid of it, but you need to get all the roots. Any root that stays in the soil will try to grow another plant. UT Extension Agents Booker T. Leigh and Chris Cooper talk about herbicides that can kill it.
