Q&A – What are these spots on my magnolia leaves?
Question:
What are these spots on my magnolia leaves? How do I control them?
Answer:
The spots are anthracnose. The cool wet weather has provided a good environment for anthracnose to grow. To control it you can use a fungicide. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper lists several you can use. He also suggests that when the weather become hotter and drier the anthracnose will not be as big of a problem. Pruning the tree to improve airflow will help next year.
