Q&A – What can I do to get native grasses to thrive here in Chicago, Il?

Question:
What can I do to get native grasses to thrive here in Chicago, Il?

Answer:

Most grasses need full sun. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says looking at the picture there is quite a bit of shade. If you have shade, select more shade tolerant varieties like carex, sedges and switchgrass.
