Q&A – What is the best kind of boxwood to use for a hedge
in full sun?

Question:
What is the best kind of boxwood to use for a hedge in full sun?

Answer:

In the hot day-long sun of the Mid-South boxwoods will not do well. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says boxwoods like some shade. She would recommend a little-leafed holly hedge instead. Hollies can take full sun and the little-leafed varieties look like boxwood.
