Q&A – What is the best way to germinate and grow ginkgo trees?

Question:
What is the best way to germinate and grow ginkgo trees?

Answer:
Ginkgo trees are incredibly slow growing. One problem is that the female tree has very stinky fruit and most people do not want to smell it. As a result, all the ginkgo trees in the nursery are often grafted to ensure they are male. That being said, ginkgo seeds can be grown but they need warm and cold stratification to germinate. Chris Cooper explains.
