What is this volunteer tree in my garden? - Sweetgum Tree
Answer:
This is a sweetgum tree. Certified Arborist Wes Hopper says it is a good native tree and prolific grower, but you should not let it grow if it is that close to the house. Wes says they tend to show up often in yards is they are early in the forest succession process of trees.
