Q&A – What is wrong with my tomato plants? The leaves are misshapen and curled?

Question:
What is wrong with my tomato plants? The leaves are misshapen and curled?

Answer:
This is herbicide damage from phenoxy herbicides. This probably happened because someone nearby used a phenoxy herbicide on their lawn and the chemical drifted to the tomatoes. It could have also occurred because the tomatoes were sprayed with a sprayer that previously contained a phenoxy herbicide.

Unfortunately, with damage this severe it is unlikely the plants will grow out of it. It is probably best to remove those plants and start over. Tomatoes are very sensitive to herbicides and will show damage before other plants.
