Q&A – Why are branches of my red maple dying?
Question:
Why are branches of my red maple dying?
Answer:
The branches have died because they are not getting water and nutrients. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says the dead branches will not start growing again. She also thinks with that much of the tree dead it should probably be removed. UT Extension Agent Chris Cooper says the tree was stressed and that invites borers which may be the cause of the dead branches.
