Q&A – Can I thin a peach tree by removing blossoms?

Question:
Why are my irises not blooming as much as usual?

Answer:

This past winter was unusually cold and that has affected irises, but there are several other possible things at play here. University of Memphis Director of Landscape Joellen Dimond says irises need to be divided every few years or the number of blooms will reduce significantly. She recommends digging them up and dividing them after they finish blooming this summer.
