Q&A – Why do I have small anthills in my yard everywhere?

Question:
Why do I have small anthills in my yard everywhere?

Answer:

There are no definite reasons why you have lots of ants. Retired UT Extension Agent Mike Dennison says you probably have a healthy ecosystem. He says if the ants are not getting in the house, they are not really a problem. There are insecticides you can use if you want. If there is something in the ground, you can dig up a small patch and see.
