Q&A – Why do I have spots on my banana pepper leaves?
Question:
My banana pepper plant has brown and black spots all over the leaves. What is causing that?
Answer:
Peppers can suffer from bacterial spot. Retired UT Extension Agent Mike Dennison checked the UT Redbook and recommends using fixed copper mixed with Mancozeb. He also mentions that some varieties are resistant to bacterial spot and recommends growing those. He also recommends not touching your pepper plants when they are wet because you can spread the disease. UT Extension Agent Booker T. Leigh recommends rotating your vegetables to reduce disease pressure.
