Q&A – Why do my blueberry, blackberry, and gaura leaves look burned?

Question:
Why do my blueberry, blackberry, and gaura leaves look burned?

Answer:
This likely stem cankers on the blueberry and blackberry. UT Assistant Professor of Residential and Consumer Horticulture Natalie Bumgarner says you should inspect the stems for problems. If you find cankers, prune them out, cutting at least an inch below the canker. For the gaura Natalie says they are very sensitive to wet conditions and root rot. Check for good drainage.
